The LX is the base trim of the Accord. It comes standard with the 1.5T turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that’s paired to a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). It can produce the following metrics:
- 192 horsepower
- 192 lb-ft of torque
With this engine and trim level, you can travel with an EPA-estimated 30 city/38 highway MPG for LX and EX-L trims as you commute around town.1
The Accord LX trim level comes with a lot of great technology, including an 8-inch touchscreen along with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility. Those apps are convenient when you need directions or want to play a song, which you’ll hear through the standard 4-speaker sound system.
The next level is the Accord Hybrid. As noted by the name, this option comes standard with a hybrid engine paired to an Electronic Continuously Variable Transmission (E-CVT) with Sport Mode and Deceleration Selectors that will provide a total system horsepower of 212 HP and up to 232 lb-ft of torque. Fuel economy is superb in this sedan at an EPA-estimated 48 city/47 highway MPG for Hybrid and Hybrid EX-L trims.1
It comes with much of the same features as LX, and you’ll feel comfortable with standard amenities like Dual-Zone Automatic Climate Control, Push Button Start, and Smart Entry with Walk Away Auto Lock®. The latter two options introduce keyless functions that help you get in and go with greater ease.
When you move up to the Sport trim, you’ll get another gas engine option: the available 2.0T turbocharged 4-cylinder. This one is more powerful with the following metrics:
- 252 horsepower
- 273 lb-ft of torque
With this engine, you’ll now have standard 10-Speed Automatic Transmission and Paddle Shifters. Plus, there will be fun Sport Pedals to enjoy on each journey.
The upgrade to the 2.0T engine also brings with it some upgraded technology. Some of these systems include:
- Wireless Apple CarPlay®
- Wireless Android Auto™
- Wireless Phone Charger
You’ll get extra safety technology as well, with the Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Monitor, now standard, to assist with lane merging.
Sport Special Edition
Sport Special Edition goes back to using the 1.5T engine seen on the base level. It’ll come with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, and will be the first level to feature leather-trimmed seats.
More amenities come in the form of a 12-Way Power Driver’s Seat with lumbar support and a 4-way power passenger’s seat. These front seats are heated, and you’ll still have access to the aforementioned Dual-Zone Automatic Climate Control System to customize the cabin temperature.
The Hybrid Sport trim of the Accord is another opportunity to enjoy the standard hybrid engine. Unlike the previous Hybrid trim, this one rocks the same Sport Pedals found on the Sport and Sport Special Edition trims.
It offers many of the same systems seen on the other trims, like the full Honda Sensing® suite that comes with various systems to protect you on your drives. Some of these include Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow for easier highway drives, and the Traffic Sign Recognition System to note any upcoming speed limit switches.
Hybrid Sport also keeps you entertained with an 8-speaker sound system and connections to both SiriusXM® and HD Radio™ for more diverse listening options.
The EX-L trim gets more customizable, as you’ll be able to select either the 1.5T gas engine or the available hybrid engine. With your preferred engine under the hood, you get to utilize an engine that’s based on your personal performance and fuel economy needs.
This trim also adds in more fun technology, like a 10-speaker sound system through which you can enjoy the SiriusXM® and HD Radio™ connections mentioned previously. There’s also a standard Wireless Phone Charger, and two USB charging ports in the rear row so that other passengers can power up, too.
Like the EX-L, the Touring trim offers the choice of a gas engine or hybrid. This time, the gas engine is the more powerful 2.0Tversion that will deliver incredible performance on your daily drives.
This Touring trim also affords you access to the most advanced amenities and features of the Accord. Producing the most comfortable cabin yet, you’ll enjoy the following:
- Heated and ventilated front seats
- Heated rear outboard seats
In terms of technology, it’s the only trim level to offer the Head-Up Display, a unique feature that makes it easier to view vehicle information. It’s also the only trim level to offer the Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System™ that will guide you to new locations.
