The Best Hondas for Camping Adventures

When it comes to camping, the right vehicle can make or break your adventure. Honda, known for its reliability and versatility, offers several models that are perfect for getting you out into nature while keeping you comfortable and well-equipped. Whether you're looking for something compact for solo trips or spacious enough for a family getaway, there's a Honda to fit the bill. Here’s a look at the best Hondas for camping enthusiasts. 1. Honda CR-V The Honda CR-V is one of the most popular compact SUVs for good reason—it’s practical, efficient, and perfect for camping trips. Why It's Great for Camping: Spacious Cargo Area: With the rear seats folded down, the CR-V offers plenty of space for gear or even a makeshift sleeping setup. All-Wheel Drive (AWD): Honda’s Real Time AWD system provides excellent traction for reaching off-the-beaten-path campsites. Fuel Efficiency: You’ll save money and reduce stops with the CR-V’s impressive MPG for an SUV. Ideal for small groups or solo adventurers, the CR-V is a great option for those who want a balance of comfort and utility. 2. Honda Ridgeline For campers who want the versatility of a truck, the Honda Ridgeline is a standout choice. This unibody pickup combines Honda’s signature smooth ride with rugged practicality. Why It's Great for Camping: In-Bed Trunk: A lockable in-bed trunk doubles as a cooler, perfect for keeping your food and drinks chilled. Flat Truck Bed: The spacious bed can accommodate tents, bikes, kayaks, and other bulky camping gear. Dual-Action Tailgate: The tailgate swings both down and out for easier access to your gear. AWD Capability: Perfect for tackling dirt roads or uneven terrain. The Ridgeline is ideal for campers who need heavy-duty hauling or want to tailgate in style. 3. Honda Passport The Honda Passport is the CR-V’s bigger, bolder sibling, designed for those who love adventure and need extra space. Why It's Great for Camping: Off-Road Capability: Equipped with Honda’s Intelligent Traction Management, the Passport handles sand, snow, and mud with ease. Ample Interior Space: With over 50 cubic feet of cargo space (and more with seats down), the Passport is perfect for families or campers with lots of gear. Roof Rails: Add a cargo box or roof rack to carry even more equipment. The Passport offers a more rugged option than the CR-V while maintaining Honda’s reputation for comfort and reliability. 4. Honda Element (Used Market) Though discontinued, the Honda Element remains a cult favorite among campers and van-lifers. Why It's Great for Camping: Boxy Design: The square shape maximizes interior space, making it easy to customize for camping setups. Washable Interior: The durable flooring and upholstery are easy to clean after muddy or sandy adventures. Removable Rear Seats: Transform the Element into a mini camper by removing the rear seats for a flat sleeping area. If you can find a well-maintained Honda Element, it’s a dream for DIY campers looking for a budget-friendly option. 5. Honda Odyssey For families or groups who want comfort and roominess, the Honda Odyssey is surprisingly well-suited for camping trips. Why It's Great for Camping: Seating Versatility: The Magic Slide seats and fold-flat third-row seating offer incredible flexibility for passengers and gear. Built-In Entertainment: Keep the kids entertained with the rear entertainment system while heading to your campsite. Spacious Interior: Minivans like the Odyssey are perfect for "car camping" with enough room to sleep inside or store supplies. While it’s not designed for rugged off-road trails, the Odyssey shines in family-friendly camping environments. Choosing the Right Honda for Your Camping Style The best Honda for your camping trips depends on your preferences and needs: Compact and Efficient: Go with the CR-V. Rugged and Spacious: Opt for the Passport or Ridgeline. DIY Van Life: Look for a used Honda Element. Family-Friendly Comfort: The Odyssey is hard to beat. No matter which model you choose, Honda’s reputation for reliability and thoughtful design ensures you’ll have a vehicle that supports your outdoor adventures for years to come. So, pack your gear, hit the road, and let your Honda take you to your next campsite! 🚗🌲

2016 Honda CR-V | Milwaukee, WI

Honda CR-V is Edmunds.com’s Most-Researched Vehicle

Every year, Edmunds.com - one of the most popular websites for automobile research - releases a statement listing the vehicles most often researched by consumers coming to their website. For 2016, the Honda CR-V took home the honors of being Edmunds.com’s most-researched vehicle for the second year in a row, pointing towards the industry’s current trend towards the family-friendly SUV and crossover segment. Edmunds also mentioned that two other Honda models - the Accord and the Civic - also took the second and third places on the list, securing an all-Honda top three. However, the CR-V’s incredible popularity, plus an all-new redesign for the 2017 model year, pushed consumer interest in the crossover over the edge. With modern innovations in engineering, drivers are finding that larger cars like SUVs and crossovers are more fuel efficient than ever, so they can have both the space and utility of a larger vehicle without sacrificing their gas budget. As Edmunds.com’s most-researched vehicle, the Honda CR-V is obviously stirring up a lot of interest. Edmunds predicts the crossover is the sixth best-selling vehicle in the nation, with its brand-mate the Honda Civic taking the fourth spot on that list, which the models share with two pickup trucks and two Toyota sedans.

New Honda Civic Type-R Spotted in London

The new Honda Civic Type-R is an upcoming model that has enthusiasts and speed demons raving. The Japanese automaker hasn’t been too forthcoming with the new model but it looks like someone has spotted the sport-inspired compact car in London of all places. While we’ve seen the prototype before, the Honda Civic Type-R production model is much more telling. The Civic Type-R prototype took the spotlight at the 2016 Paris Motor Show but we haven’t heard much since. Now someone has spotted not one, but two Civic Type-R models rolling through London. The Honda Civic hatchback made its debut at the Paris Motor Show and serves as the basis for the Type-R. The hatchback version of the popular compact car is set to launch next year. The Type-R is expected to launch shortly after as well. Honda hot hatches have done well in the past but designers took a different approach this time around. Instead of creating a lean, mean vehicle with an extreme look, the Type-R will boast a soft front bumper and rear diffuser. Have no fear, enthusiasts. The new Honda Civic Type-R will be just as aggressive as one would expect! Keep checking back to learn more about the arrival of the all-new Honda Civic Type-R in the states. New Honda 3D-printed Electric Vehicle Fits in a Tiny Package

The world of 3D-printing technology seems to get more impressive every day, but Honda has seriously raised the bar with its latest 3D-printing adventure by building an electric vehicle. Honda joined up with a Japanese 3D-printing startup company called Kabuku to design the tiny model, which was created with the aim of driving comfortably on narrow Japanese roads that are usually only travelled by motorcycle. The 3D-printed EV was modeled after Honda’s Variable Design platform for micro EVs, which was recently revealed at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. Honda has proved that it can not only design a micro EV but also 3D print one. Even more impressive is the fact that this 3D-printed electric vehicle actually requires less materials to build than it would have needed if produced by traditional means, making it more affordable. Those are the kind of savings that can be ultimately passed down to consumers. Could this be a look into a future where cars are simply 3D-printed rather than manufactured the way we know now? It’s hard to say for sure, but now we know that it is not impossible. For now, simply visit us anytime at Schlossmann Honda, where we have all the latest Honda models available.

new Civic Hatchback

A First Look at the New Civic Hatchback

You only need to look at the fact that the Honda Civic has been around for ten generations to realize that it’s a mainstay of the compact segment. Commonly available as either a sedan or a coupe, the Civic is a favorite of buyers looking for an affordable vehicle with great fuel economy and excellent value. Now, for 2017, Honda has given us a first glance at the new Civic hatchback, the first hatch variant of the Civic nameplate to debut since the 2003 Civic Si. The Honda Civic entered its tenth generation last fall as a four-door sedan, with the coupe joining the lineup spring 2016. The hatchback model is right on schedule, rolling out sometime late 2016. However, unlike the more modest Civic sedans and coupes, the hatchback will come standard with a turbocharged engine that’s only an option on the other two. Additionally, Honda has announced the Civic Si and Civic Type R are under development with more performance-focused powertrains. That means Civic hatchbacks will target a more sporty demographic than the standard Civic. The new Civic hatchback will arrive at the end of the month, starting at $19,700 before tax, title and destination charge. Be on the lookout for it at Schlossmann Honda City.
